How Obama crossed the line.

notthatkindagay:

muppetpants:

This is in reference to Obama’s using the old addage “You can put lipstick on a pig, but it’s still a pig” yesterday and all the backlash it’s caused.

I don’t know Obama’s intentions.  McCain’s used the same term prior.  The difference this time is context.  Due to Palin’s use of “What’s the difference between a pit bull and a hockey mom?” in her convention speech, the term “lipstick” has now been tied to Palin.  By using the phrase “Lipstick on a pig,” it sounds like you’re talking about Palin being a pig.

As I mentioned, I don’t know Obama’s intentions, but when he said it, the crowd went wild.  They knew how they interpreted it.  And I think most of the country will interpret it that way.  This is a disasterous gaffe for Obama—of Biden preportions, if you will.

After yesterday’s gaffes by the Obama and the turning of the electoral tide, this race just keeps getting more and more entertaining.

More on this later.

This is idiotic.
